Great punk album from the early 80 s -- and I owe them - Bought this album through an ad in Cream or Rolling Stone (forget which) back in the early eighties. I wanted hard core, in your face punk and that s exactly what I got.Unfortunately, due to the hard financial times I was in at the time, my check for the album bounced. So sorry. One of the band members actually called me (don t know how he got my number). I apologized and promised to send them cash (I never did). When I told friends about it, they said watch your back. LOL, whatever. I think I still have the LP somewhere in my album collection...Ordering the CD so these guys finally get my long overdue money...Favorite song -- They Saved Hitler s C--k.
Important record - This is a great record. It is over before you know it. I used to listen to this record every day with my friends after partaking in the herbal jazz cigarretts. Get this record. It rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Whew. - I m a sensitive middle-aged guy, with gay friends and a positive loving attitude. This album still rocks. If Wagner gets great reviews then Metal Mike should have a statue somewhere - we will all know the Apocalypse is at hand when the R&R Hall of Fame votes these guys in. BTW a one-eyed woman I knew loved Lights Out, proving that cool people come in all varieties.
Politically incorrect punk classic - Sure, these guys sound mighty tame compared to G.G. Allin or The Dwarves, but they re still very offensive to anyone only familiar with lame pop-punk (Green Day, Blink 182). Despite how offensive the subject matter can be, its so over the top you can t help but find it hilarious. Regardless of how serious they are (and they sound pretty convicted on tracks like Homosexual), its still a laugh out loud punk rock classic. And like all great punk rock, the riff ares simplistic yet catchy as hell. I dare you not to dance or hum along to Haizman s Brain Is Calling or Not of This Earth. Its cheaper and more conveniant to pick up The Unboxed Set, even though only 50% of the material on that compilation is great. The first two albums by the Samoans are classic, the second two are, well, safe and boring (I don t even considor The 90s Suck & So Do You to be a Samoans album, even though its fun and catchy). This is by far the best album from the Samoans. I mean how can you beat the lyrics to They Saved Hitler s C^ck?
Great, great band - The Angry Samoans have to be one of the most offensive, hilarious, and underrated bands of all time. I just saw them last night for the third time to a crowd of about 40 people, before that they played to about 200 people but they put on the same exact show and I have more fun seeing them than I do any other band. They are true punk rock originals and it s to bad that not many people know about them. God bless the Angry Samoans.
